Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question, the answer may be included in these FAQs
What are the dates for the different challenges?
Please refer to this document for details on each phase and the corresponding deadlines:
Is having a teacher required, or can groups of students participate independently?
Each school must register at least one lead teacher for the participating students.
Can groups of teachers work with students?
Yes! The lead teacher will receive a single access to work with students, but groups of teachers can collaborate in teams with students. This type of teamwork is exactly what we encourage in schools!
Can groups of students be multigrade?
Absolutely! Teams of students from different grades within the same school can work together. However, you must register the team under the highest grade level. For example, if your group includes students from Grades 6 and 7, you should register them as Grade 7.
Can individual students register?
No, registration is ONLY possible through a school and a lead teacher.
How many projects can each school submit?
Each school can submit projects from a maximum of three grade levels.
Do I need to log in to Science Bits to participate?
Yes, you need to login, participate in the Forum, complete the respective challenges, and work with the Science Bits content.
What is required of me?
By the end of each phase, and no later than March 14, 2025, participants must submit a final project document and a presentation video.
How will the winners be selected?
A jury of experts and educators will choose the winning projects. Some of the selected proposals by the jury may also be featured in the closing event, which will be broadcast live on YouTube.
What criteria will be used to select the winners?
The jury will consider several factors, including originality, presentation quality, scientific rigor, local impact, creativity, innovation, and/or teamwork.
Can we use AI?
All submitted work must be original. The use of AI is not permitted.
If we win, will the prizes be sent directly to our school?
